Common Fengshui mistakes

Did you know that furniture arrangement can affect fengshui? If you were to place your furniture incorrectly, you will be affected. 

Some of common mistakes are as follows:

1. Having a tall shoe rack. Shoe rack should be ideally not taller than 1/3 of your total floor-to-ceiling height. For example, the height from floor to ceiling is 3 metre, as such you should have a shoe rack that is not more than 1 metre high! 

2. Placing the shoe rack at the wrong position. Shoe rack should be placed at location where it should not affect the good fengshui energy. 

3. Placing your bed head behind the toilet wall is a taboo especially is direct behind the toilet bowl.

4. Having a bed under a round lamp should be avoided. 

5. A bed which is direct under a beam. 

6. Sleeping near to a window without having the curtains drawn. 

7. A tall fish tank, for example taller than your height.

8. Old and dirty door.

9. TV right opposite your bed.

10. Mirror next to your bed.

Water feature for your home or office.

Did you know that water feature if placed correctly, it can bring you good luck?

Yes, water feature is one of the common items that I usually suggest to my clients during my fengshui audit. As I have witnessed the benefits of having water feature at home or in the office. Besides improving a person's luck, water feature can beautify the surrounding, and not forgetting the therapeutic effect too!

And please do not place your water feature without consulting your Fengshui master, as water feature if placed incorrectly may bring adverse impact!

There are many types of water feature available in the market. If you want something simple, you may just want to get it off from the shelf. Prices can be from S$38 onwards to few thousands dollars! But if you were to ask me whether it is necessary to get those expensive ones in order to have a faster result? My answer would be NO!

However, if you are planning to get the water feature off from the shelf, you may want to take note that rough or uneven surface or odd shaped water feature should be avoided! Ideally, one should go for round-smooth-surface water feature or water feature that have metal ornament. Why? The reason is very simple, round shape represents Metal element in Fengshui. Therefore, having "metal"  in the water feature which will, in turn produce water, as some would regard water as wealth (水生财 shui sheng cai). So is better to have something that symbolise "production" (生 sheng) rather otherwise.

There is another important point that you may want to take note of, if the water flows in one direction, you may want to make sure that the water flow direction does NOT flow out from your house or office!

If you can't find any water feature off the shelf, you may want to opt for D-I-Y water feature. Anyway, is not that difficult to construct a water feature. But first, before you start your D-I-Y water feature project, you may want to take note the design of water feature is important! So remember to have your water feature design done up first before you make your next move. Do talk to your contractors if you are planning to construct a unique water feature at home or in the office! Important thing to note - Not all designs can work!

The most challenging part in D-I-Y water feature project will be choosing the correct water pump. Even contractors have problems in this area! To choose the right pump, all you need to know are the 2 parameters: Pump Head and Flow (speed).

Pump Head means that the maximum height that the water can flow up, while Flow determines how fast the water can travel. But of course, the water flow (speed) can be affected by the pipe size as well. So remember, choosing the right pipe size also matters!

Yes, you hear me correctly. Fengshui can help if applied correctly. ALot of times, people like to ask why Fengshui never work? Actually, it works but is just that it may apply incorrectly! Take Wen Chang Wei (Academic position)for example. To achieve good academic results, one should sit and face the yearly Academic Star direction. With the addition of placing one Wen Chang Ta (Pagoda) ornament on top of the study desk, this will enhance your concentration in your studies. However, if one thinks that having Wen Chang Ta (Pagoda) will help. Well, the result may not as effective as one facing the correct direction. So shift your study desk to the right direction now and good luck in your studies!

21 Dec 2012 - Dong Zhi 冬至

Of late, there have been alot of reports about 21 Dec 2012, it seems like that there are some believers believe that this date will mark the end of the world.

Well, to some, this date 21 Dec 2012 is Dong Zhi 冬至 which is also known as Winter solstice - the longest night. So to the latter, they may just dismiss this belief - end of the world.

So it is true that 21 Dec 2012 will be our last Dong Zhi for the entire world? Well, we will know when the day comes!

Anyway for those who are keen in bazi or also known as four pillars. Here is the bazi based on Dong Zhi time：

戌辰子辰

Based on the bazi, some points which may worth taking a look : A super weak fire day which sits on earth. The fire is weaken by the earth underneath and in addition to that, this weak fire is further weaken by the 2 water element on top. These 2 water element are deemed to be very strong as they are supported by the metal element and the winter season. Hope that the weak fire will not be extinguished by the strong water!

Apart from that, there are clashes among the earth elements in the bazi, such clashes may result earth movement. With such observation, let's hope for the best. Pray hard that there will be no earthquake or tsunami on this date.
