The "power" of soil.

We use soil to grow plants or cultivate vegetables, thus soil can be useful if properly used. But on the other hand, unattended soil or soil with withered plants can be potent, usually it will dissipate bad qi. And it will affect your fengshui.

Therefore, if your house have pots of soil that have been left unattended, my advice is to discard them.

Unique X'mas card from Japan

I want to thanks my friends from Japan for sending me such an unique christmas card, but it looks more like a christmas present to me. This christmas card that I received can be fold and turn into a letter holder. See photos below.

This is really a good concept, usually when Christmas period is over, most of us would keep the Christmas cards in the drawers. However, with this concept, we can turn christmas card into a useful item.

Once the christmas card is turned into a letter box. If you were to look though the front elevation, the box has 3-D effect.

Finally....

Finally, our flyer has resumed its operation. And of course, the release of trapped passengers in the capsules.It was reported that a fire broke out at flyer's control room which resulted the flyer to stop.

There were more than 170 people trapped in this incident. And it took almost 7 hours to have all the trapped passengers to release from the capsules. For more information on this incident, click on the following links :

Let it snow! Merry Christmas to you.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. If only Singapore snows.... Christmas is just less than 2 days away! How are you going to celebrate your Christmas? Last minute shopping for some of you, I suppose. As for me, I still have not decided what to do on Christmas eve. Anyway, I do not celebrate Christmas but I still like Christmas season, after all is feastive mood. Sort of warm feeling, maybe because is time for giving?

Talking about giving, news have been reported that this year our Charity organisations are receiving lesser gifts this year as compared to last year. Looks like the current economy crisis has affected people mood to spend and to give. Nevertheless, I hope that more of you can come forward to donate, if you can.

Last but not least, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas. Merry Xmas!

Five elements - The fundamental

Guess you must have heard of Jin (Metal) Mu (Wood) Shui (Water) Huo (Fire) Tu (Earth) 金木水火土? Yes, these are the fundamental for a bazi or fengshui enthusiast. Before one can proceed to the next higher level; the complexities of metaphysics studies, the basic fundamental should manage well first.

And do not under estimate these basic five elements, they are very useful when they are used for analysis. Why do I say so? Well, if you were to look at the Five elements - cycle of birth.

Earth produces Metal, while Metal produces Water, Water in turn produces Wood, thus Wood produces Fire, Fire will return back to Earth.

If you are doing bazi analysis, if you have identified the element of your subject (Person). You can find clues from the bazi, for example :

丙Bing (Fire) 己Ji (Earth) 丙Bing (Fire) 己Ji (Earth)
寅Yin (Wood) 巳Si (Fire) 寅Yin (Wood) 未Wei (Earth)

IN this set of bazi, the lady belongs to 己Ji Earth element (Day master). From here, we can search for clues on this person. For simple illustration,If someone were to ask about her mother. With the information here, we can see check for the element that produces her element, in this instance, it will be Fire. From here, we can deduce that her mother is close to her.

If you were wondering this person's creativeness, check for her output. From the above bazi, there is no metal element. Therefore, we can deduce that this person is not creative.

With such illustration, you can have a rough idea how bazi master analyse your bazi.

In fengshui, five elements also play an important part in fengshui analysis. For example, if a main door faces East direction (East represents Wood), in such condition, ideally there should NOT have any Metal element.

Qi Men Dun Jia tells you what is going to be asked

Last saturday evening, while I was watching the news, my mobile phone rang. I answered the call, it was my friend C. He asked whether I could help his cousin by using Qi Men Dun Jia.

I told him to hold on while I went to pick up my PDA to check the chart. The chart was as follows:

After looking at the chart, I asked him," Does your cousin want to know something about his employee?" And I quickly added," Is a lady employee!" My friend answered," Yes!" Then we went on to discuss the details on the Qi Men Dun Jia Chart.

As you can see Qi Men Dun Jia is a powerful tool, it can give you an insight what is going to be asked. Apart from that, if a person who has Qi Men Dun Jia knowledge, it would allow him to use the current time frame to choose an auspicious location to accomplish a task with least effort.

Everybody knows that times are bad now. And everyone seems to be worried about keeping his own job, unless you have the intention to leave your present post in next couple of months.

Question is, "When can we walk out of the dark?" Using liu nian tian gan and di zhi 流年天干与地支, to analyse . Looks like things will not be getting any better for the time being. And year 2010, which is 2 years later, is going to be another challenging year ahead. Looks like going to be a long tough journey.

A rural lifestyle

A friend of mine suggested that we should pay a visit to Kranji Farm Resort, this is a newly opened resort which has a layout designed like olden days kampong but with modern facilities. Surrounding the resort are plantations such as rice, maze and sugarcane. It was indeed an eye opener for a city dweller like me, as I have never seen a big plantation in Singapore before.

Anyway for those who have lived in kampong before and miss kampong lifestyle, this may be a good place for you to recall the good old days.

As for those who have never lived in kampong before, but keen to try. You can book one of those kampong houses, there are total of 20 such houses. Not to worry about hot weather, every house is fully air-conditioned.

To make thing easier for you, a private carpark complete with automated gate is provided in front of each house. Behind the house is the balcony, which you can sit down with your loved one to enjoy stars glazing at night.

There are alot of things which you can do and find in the resort; spa, seafood restaurant, bicycle kiosk, billard, shops and many more. Apart from that, there are various types of farms in the vicinity, which you can visit. Is a good place for family outing too!

Of late, I have been doing alot of bazi analysis and research. My usual style of doing bazi analysis is to track the past of the subject first. You may ask what is the reason behind it? Reason is very simple, that is to "verify" whether my analysis is on the right track. Before I proceed to talk about future.

Turn your wedding day into a movie

One of the common things that we usually get to see in a wedding dinner, is either wedding video or just photo montage of the newly wed couple. But have you seen wedding video that was turned into a movie? Yes, "wedding movie" with leading actor (Bridegroom) and actress (Bride) in it, and not forgetting the supporting roles : - Brothers and Sisters (Jie Mei).

Yesterday night, I attended my friend's wedding dinner at Xin Hu Bin 新湖滨. This newly wed couple engaged a videoman to record their wedding day and made it into a movie. The movie was played in the later part of the dinner time. That was my first time to view a wedding movie, and I must say that it is very different from those wedding dinners that I have attended before.

When the movie was played, my eyes were basically glued to the big screen. There I was, enjoying every single moment of the movie, the storyline was good, the movie graphic and sound effect was very fantastic too! And if you were to ask me, how many stars would I rate for the wedding movie? I would give 4 1/2 stars out of 5 stars for that wedding movie, reason is because I thought I was watching a real movie!

Apart from the movie, this newly wed couple also hired a live band to entertain us during the dinner time. A wedding dinner with movie and live band, that made the whole dinner very special. And will definitely make me and most of the guests to remember this joyous occasion.

So if you are going to host your wedding dinner soon, and if you want your guests to remember your big day. You can consider do something different like what my friends did.

Health and house fengshui

If you are a person who is health conscience and health matter is always your top priority. Then your house fengshui is something which you should not overlook.

In my own humble opinion, house fengshui can really affect a person's well being. I personally have witnessed house's fengshui could change a person's luck and health. Especially if the house has inferior fengshui and external envirnoment. With those factors and over a period of time, can affect a person's health.

So the best medicine to prevent any potential health problems which caused by house fengshui, is to seek professional fengshui advise.

Liu Nian Fengshui 流年风水 - Annual Fengshui

In a few weeks' time, we will have to say good-bye to year 2008 and welcome 2009. And before we say hello to 2009. Have you prepared yourself well to receive the New Year? And did you know that in fengshui (Xuan Kong Feng Xing 玄空飞星 - Flying star), the stars change? In short, fengshui changes every year!

An invitation

Just received an overseas call from a friend. To be exact, an "old" friend whom I have known for more than ten years or so. To keep the story short, she called to invite me to her wedding : - an overseas wedding.

Time really flies! I can still remember clearly those times that we used to talk over the phone. Back then, she was only a student. Just like other students, she had full of ambition. After so many years of hardwork. Well, I am proud to say that she has achieved her goal. In case you are still wondering what have she achieved, she is a doctor. Doctors that save lives.

Back to her invitation, her wedding date is just only a few days away. The strange thing is, I am looking forward to attend her wedding dinner, this is my first time to have such feeling. To think I have attended so many weddings before, I never ever had such feeling before! Haha... wondering am I getting excited as her? Or it is because this is an overseas wedding which makes me looking forward to?

Anyway, think I will join her to countdown to her big day. Once again, let me congratulate her!

Placement of Altar

Below are some pointers for placement of altar:

1. Altar should never place behind toilet wall.

2. Altar should never place behind a wall that house stove.

3. Altar should never place on top of a passageway or corridor.

4. Altar should not face any sharp corner or wall.

5. Altar's surrounding should be kept clean and tidy.

6. Any noisy activities should be avoided.

7. Ideally, altar should place in front of a solid wall.

8. Altar should never place in the middle of a house, without any soild support.

Keep your fengshui ornaments clean

Fengshui ornaments are supposed to bring good luck to you, so is important to keep them clean at all times!

Having an unclean fengshui ornaments will not be good. Cos dirt accumulated on the fengshui ornaments are considered Yin. I believe you wouldn't like to have negative energy in fengshui ornaments, would you? If you keep fengshui ornaments, so why not start cleaning them now?

Main Door position is important

When comes to fengshui, personally I feel that main door position is important. A door that faces the right direction with good qi, it will bring good luck to occupants. On the other hand, if a door that faces an inferior direction with bad qi, most likely the occupants will have lousy luck.

Apart from the door position, there should not be any sharp pointed object facing the main door or any object that standing in centre of the main door. Having such objects will bring problems to house occupants.

Should your house have such bad configuration, you should quickly get it correct before any problems come.

Forbidden City

Last April, I wanted so much to visit the Forbidden City when I was in Beijing but due to our tight schedule there, we could not make it. I was quite disappointed that I did not get the chance to visit the palace and most importantly, the chance to observe the fengshui of the buildings.

After my last Beijing trip, I have been telling myself that I would go back there again, to visit the Forbidden City. And Ming Tomb.

Finally, after so many months, I had the chance to visit Forbidden City yesterday. Yes I did it! But it was a virtual tour! A 3D tour, the graphics were so well done, I thought I was there visiting the real thing. And to make things more interesting, the developer of this virtual tour also included tour guides! Yes, tour guide that brings you around! In the guided tour, the guide also share the history of the place.

Out of so many tours, the most interesting tour was the Fengshui tour. Yes, fengshui topic was mentioned in this virtual tour.

Both bazi have something in common, that is same heavenly stem and earthly branch in their month pillar. And the interesting part is, both did "major" mistake in their work, which resulted "heavy" losses. Are they able to make up the losses?

Golden Handshake aka Retrenchment

During this time of economy crisis, it seems like retrenchment is unavoidable. And in a recent report, headhunters were asked to identify the riskiest sectors and low risk sectors. The results are as follows:

High Risk Sectors
- Banking and finance
- Tourism and service
- Luxury and retail
- Manufacturing


Low Risk Sectors
- Accountancy
- Energy
- Health Care
- Law
- Public Sector

I have to agree with the headhunters' point of views, if you were to look at the those low risk sectors, these are basic necessities which we need them or their services.

For example, energy - there is no way that we can "survive" without the use of energy. As for health care, everyone needs to see a doctor when one is not feeling well. Public sector, we need police to be around to keep our society safe!

So chances of those people working in those low risk sectors, getting retrenched will be much lower than those people who are in the high risk sectors.

But looking at the bright side, getting retrenched may not be a bad thing after all. Let me quote you one example, recently, a client of mine who works in Manufacturing sector was given the golden handshake. He had been with this MNC for more than 25 years, but was given the retrenchment package, he was chosen for the package not because he performed badly in his work. On the contrary, he was one of the best employees in that company.

His company decided to outsource the department which he worked, so he had to be retrenched. Anyway, the amount of money he got from the retrenchment package could easily last him 2 years without a job! Oh yes, the good news is he could still keep his job despite being retrenched! Because the new outsource company will employ him. See getting retrenched may not be a bad thing.

Fengshui audit

I have been in construction industry in the last 10 years, all these years, I have seen how projects are being carried out; constructed and built, and most importantly the type of materials used to build.

With my 10 years or so working experience and knowledge in construction, when come to fengshui audit, I feel that I have added advantage over my peers. You may wonder why?

During a fengshui audit, one of the common "problems" is to get the correct reading. There are times, the compasss reading cannot stop changing. When standing one step ahead or behind the last position, the reading will change from the previous reading. This can cause a lot of confusions, this is especially true to beginners who have just started practising fengshui or to people without engineering background.

And during such events, when compass reading keep changing, I know what are the "technical" factors to consider and I would look out for root cause of problem without compromising. I would not simply take the fengshui compass reading just for the sake of completing the fengshui audit. Therefore, I prefer to investigate and complete my "investigation" on the root cause of the compass reading changes first before I move on to complete the fengshui audit.

Thus, it is important to note that fengshui audit is not that simple, it is not just simply standing outside the main door and taking compass reading only.

ZWDS or Bazi?

Yesterday, I was with a group of Ming Li enthusiasts, during the gathering some people asked me questions.

A :" How long have you been learning Zi Wei Dou Shu?"

I replied : "3 years."

B : "Did you learn Bazi too?"

I answered : "Yes, I did."

C : "Which one is better?"

I explained : "So long you put your heart onto one subject, do more research and read more books on this subject. Be it ZWDS or bazi, you should be able to excel in either one."

Personally, I like both subjects. Both are very interesting subjects. In fact, I am very keen in most of metaphysics subjects.

And subjects that I have learnt in the last 8 years

1. Fengshui - Black Hat Sect, Flying Star, Ba Zhai, Xuan Kong Da Gua

2. Ming Li - Bazi, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Face Reading

3. Divination - I-ching using coins or playing cards, Qi Men Dun Jia

The above-mentioned subjects are so interesting that I spend most of my time doing research on them. And I will continue to learn and research on these subjects, reason is because everyday I will discover something new out from it.

Zi Wei Dou Shu - to check your spouse's character

I like using Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS) when come to very specific question, because in ZWDS there are total of 12 palaces. They are as follows:

1. Life Palace

2. Sibling Palace

3. Spouse Palace

4. Children Palace

5. Wealth Palace

6. Health Palace

7. Travel Palace

8. Friend Palace

9. Career Palace

10. Domain Palace

11. Karma Palace

12. Parents Palace

When a question asked is related to relationship, the first thing which I would look at, would be the Spouse's palace. The star inside the spouse's palace has many details for me to look out for.

Let me give you one very general example, if a spouse's palace has bad energy together with a strong star*, is possible that the spouse tend to be dominating! In spite of that, it is not necessary true that when a star has bad energy, the spouse will end up dominating. There are other explainations for different stars with bad energy.

* Please note that there are different stars in ZWDS, the character of the each star can have different implications.

Qi Men Du Jia to do forecast for investment

Lately, stock markets have been selling down. In fact, alot of good counters are far below their valuations which make them very attractive in prices.

This morning I was wondering is this the best time for investors to enter the market? I switched on my PDA to check for QMDJ chart. It was a Fu Yin 伏吟 chart, it was a sign of NO-MOVE. Ideally, one should wait and do not take any action.

The question which I asked, "Whether is this the best time for investors to enter the market?" The chart Tian Gan 天干 (Heavenly Stem) did not look good! Let me explain, the Tian Gan 天干 (Heavenly Stem) was in grave and the palace which the Tian Gan 天干 (Heavenly Stem) was in Kong Wang 空亡 (Void) , both were another indication of bad omen.




So what should one do? The chart shows is better to stay put and relax!

Things that you can do, if bazi shows signs of relationship problem

Yesterday, I wrote an article on "Can divorce be avoided?" Today, I will share with you what are things that one can do, if bazi shows sign of relationship problem.

In my research, usually bazi shows signs of relationship problem are as follows:

1. Clashed in bazi configuration, house of spouse is clashed.

2. House of spouse clash with ten year luck cycle, Da Yun 大运.

3. House of spouse has Void, Kong Wang 空亡.

4. House of spouse Fu Yin 伏吟 with Da Yun 大运 (Ten year luck cycle) , or Liu Nian 流年 (Yearly pillar). - Fu Yin denotes that pillar is a repetition.

5. Yin Yang Sha 阴阳煞. Negative and positive (bad energy) - Standard configuration.

6. Too many earth in the earthly branches (This apply for ladies' bazi only) - All earth in Earthly Branches

Above are the common pointers, which are easy to spot-on. These pointers are usually an indication of potential relationship problem. Apart from those, there are other factors which a master can look out for. Those additional factors, I will not go into details, as it will be too complicated for readers without any bazi knowledge to understand.

So what can one do if bazi has one of the above-mentioned pointers? Is separation the only way out? Not necessary true, if only both parties are willingly to learn and adopt "give and take approach".

"Give and take approach" refers to one is willingly to give more love and take whatever unreasonable demands. I know is easier to say than to be done but this is the basic fundamental which one has to cultivate in order to enjoy a blissful relationship.

Depending on how "severe" the bazi is, if a person has a clashed configuration bazi, the best solution will be adopting the "give and take approach".

If bazi clashes with ten year luck cycle (Da Yun) or yearly pillar (Liu Nian), if one is still not married but is planning to do so soon. Is better to postpone the wedding till the clash is over. Alternatively, you can consult a master to select an auspicious date to wed if wedding cannot be postpone. Oh yes, getting your house fengshui-ed may help too!

If a bazi falls in any of the above, there is another option which may sound ridiculous to you, and some of you may strongly disagree with my suggestion. The option is to cohabit instead of having your relationship recognised legally by law! For your information, personally I have witnessed one such true case, which work perfectly well for both parties!

Can divorce be avoided?

Is sad to hear someone that you know have decided to divorce. Sometimes, I wonder why is divorce the only option for them? If yes, then the next question I have in mind is, "Why would they together in the first place?" There must be some X-factors that made them to tie the knots, weren't it?

Now assuming that if both parties adopt the "give and take approach", can divorce be avoided? Or it has been heaven's will to destined one loving couple to go separate ways, that there is no way that one can avoid this calamity?

In my own humble opinion, I feel that adopting the "give and take approach" should be able to help, if only you know your bazi well. Let me quote you one example, if a bazi has clashes in the house of spouse in this ten year luck cycle, or also known as Da Yun 大运. Then one should learn to be tolerance towards his loved one. If the person did not adopt the "give and take approach", then chances of separation would be much higher.

Therefore, having bazi analysed before tying the knots is not a bad thing after all, because one can avoid unhappiness in the later part of the marriage life. In my next article, I will share with you what are the things that one can do to avoid separation if bazi shows sign of relationship problem .

Re-visit to a special place

I did not purposely choose this date, 24 Oct 2008, to re-visit this place, it just happened that the organisers had this seminar on this date and held at this place. A place which is special to me.


There are so much changes in this place as compared to the past, the present - is so much vibrant! The place is well-lit and it is full of colours and excitment! How I wish I can be back in this place again.


Just to share a little bit history of this place, just only last year 2007, this place celebrated its 50th years anniversary. Can anyone out there, guess where is this place?


Anyway, back in 1993, I was there up in one the buildings, waited for almost 3hours, took me so much guts to do something which I wanted for. A memory which I will never forget.

Do you celebrate Halloween? Personally, I do not. To be honest, I did not even know the actual date, not till I did a search in the net. I have to admit that internet is really a powerful tool, just typed Halloween in the search machine and I got the answer straight from it, Halloween falls on 31st Oct.

I got a "gift" on last friday, it was a pumpkin but not a real one... It was only a soft toy. Anyway, that was the reason which made me to search for an answer on Halloween, to find out the actual date.

Visited the Bloodbank on last Friday, decided to contribute my 26th blood donation on this special day, for a good cause!

Sometimes, I would tell myself, if I have knew Bazi or Zi Wei Dou Shu 12 years ago, thing may turn out differently now. If only I knew my fortune then, I would have not travelled, maybe I would not have lost that much. But too bad, I started to learn Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu only after that.
