A Basic Introduction - Bazi

You may have heard of Bazi 八字 or also known as 4 Pillars. But do you know how does a Bazi look like?

Basically, Bazi is made up of 4 pillars which is consists of 4 columns and 2 rows of Chinese Characters. The upper row houses the Tian Gan 天干 (Heavenly Stems), while the lower row houses the Di Zhi 地支 (Earthly Branches).

To plot a Bazi, you need the Date of Birth and Birth time. To convert the Date of Birth and Birth time, you need a Wan Nian Li 万年历(Ten Thousands Calender) to convert into Tian Gan 天干(Heavenly Stems) and Di Zhi 地支 (Earthly Branches).

The 4 columns (4 pillars) are used to represent Year, Month, Day and Hour. And the placement of the Year starts on the right side (on the first column as indicated below), Month is on the second column, while Day is on the 3rd column and Hour is on the 4th column.

---------> Hour Pillar--- Day Pillar -- Month Pillar -- Year Pillar
---> Upper Row [ 4th Column ] [3rd Column] [2nd Column] [1st Column] Tian Gan
---> Lower Row [ 4th Column ] [3rd Column] [2nd Column] [1st Column] Di Zhi

Tian Gan 天干 (Heavenly Stems) is consisted of Ten different Elements, which are known as
Jia 甲 (Wood), Yi 乙 (Wood), Bing 丙 (Fire), Ding 丁 (Fire), Wu 戊 (Earth), Ji 己 (Earth), Geng 庚 (Metal), Xin 辛 (Metal), Ren 壬 (Water) and Gui 癸 (Water).

Di Zhi (Earthly Branches) is consisted of Twelve different Elements, which are known as Zi 子(Water), Chou 丑(Earth), Yin 寅(Wood), Mao卯 (Wood), Chen 辰(Earth), Si 巳(Fire), Wu 午(Fire), Wei 未(Earth), Shen申 (Metal), You 酉(Metal), Xu 戌(Earth) and Hai 亥(Water).

To read a Bazi, you have read it from right to left.

If you are interested to learn more about Bazi, please email me.

A plan - to visit China

Yesterday evening, a friend asked me,"Are you planning to go to China again?" I answered,"Yes, thinking of going there again, to re-visit the Great Walls of China. And hopefully to visit the Forbidden City."

Then I explained, Great Walls of China is a place that one should visit it once in a lifetime. After you have visited it, you may ask yourself how did those people build those walls in the olden days and without any machinery?
Apart from that, if you are interested to know more about China and its rich historical sites, then you should not miss places such as Temple of Heavn and Temple of Earth. I bet you will be amazed by the strong beautiful building structures.

Lunar 6th month

There are some Chinese believe that one should avoid tying the knot during the lunar 6th month, they feel that if a couple were to wed in this lunar month, relationship may not last.

And I thought only older generation would mind this particular issue only. Not until I received a phone call, someone asked me whether one can shift house during lunar 6th month? I was surprised to hear that question.

I replied,"Why not?" I paused for a second before I continued,"Did you know is pretty alright to shift house even during the lunar 7th month? That is provided you have chosen an auspicious date to shift house." Therefore, is pretty alright to shift house in lunar 6th month so long you have consulted a master to choose an auspicious date for you.

Good luck!

Daytona

Daytona - a car racing game which was very popular back then. It was considered "rare" in those days to find games that allow players to compete with one another. Apart from that, the 3D effect made the whole game very interesting.

If I am not wrong, the game started here in 1994. After so many years, the game is still as popular as what it was. To think nowadays, we have PSP games, Lan-game and etc, yet this interesting racing game still survive.

Give it a try if you happen to see them in Arcade centre. I bet you will love this game.

Next week H1N1 will reach its peak?

Just heard from the news that H1N1 is spreading fast. It was reported that next week, our H1N1 may hit a new height. Gosh is this a bad news? Or it should be a good news? Cos normally when something hit a new height, it means that it will come down, just like physical law states what goes up must come down.

2 more days to go....

Wondering what is going to be like in 2 days' time. Will we......

Our first H1N1 death

Sad to hear the news that H1N1 has claimed one victim here in Singapore. Hope that this number will not increase. And we can play our part to keep the number low. First of all, to keep the virus at bay. We need to maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing more exercise and keep a healthy diet. Secondly, we should avoid crowded areas. Thirdly, maintain a good personal hygiene. Lastly, for those are not feeling well, please stay at home and do not go out. As this will help to minimise the virus from spreading.

Please help to spread the words around. If everybody play their part, I believe we will be able to keep H1N1 virus away from us.

For nature lovers - Kent Ridge Park

For nature lovers, I bet you will love this place - Kent Ridge Park. Just a few days ago, I visited this "secluded" park which is located on top of a "mini" hill off South Buona Vista Road.

Kent Ridge Park has one of the best "untouched" forest here in Singapore. This park is also believed to be the last battle ground during the Second World War, so if you are walking in the park, please do not let your imagination run wild.

This park is rather different from other parks that I have visited. Firstly, there were not many visitors to this park especially along the Canopy Walk pathway. Secondly, to visit this park, you need to drive up. Or alternatively, you can choose to access to Kent Ridge Park via Hort Park, both parks are connected.

Okay, before I begin my Kent Ridge Park tour introduction here in my blog. My advise to readers who are planning to visit this park soon, please organise yourself in a group of 3 or more before you head up there, the reason is because it will be too boring to be up there alone. Anyway, for your own safety, I strongly encourage group visit to the park rather than to go there alone.

Here we are, Kent Ridge Park!

The Canopy walk starts now....

I like the canopy walk, reason is because the temperature here is cooler than the temperature outside the forest, the air is very fresh and surrounding is so quiet. I found peace at last!

The canopy walk is rather short as compared to other parks that I have visited.

Read this notice if you have the intention to become a volunteer. Sounds interesting right? Wondering what will the volunteers do? Dig soils? Or plant trees?

Different types of fruits that can be found in our typical forest.

Look at the stairs, they are so unique. Who is the creator of this?

The direction to the pond. Did not know that there was a pond in Kent Ridge Park until my last visit. OMG! I have visited this park so many times before!

The big pond is at the background of this photo. Anyway, if you feel the weather is too hot and you have the intention to take a dip in this pond, please think twice first! How deep is this pond? Nobody knows.... And how clean is the water? I guess you have to take a look at it.

Oh yes, no fishing in the pond too! Hope that you will have an enjoyable trip in this "untouched" park.

House fengshui - Water in front of the house is good?

I bet most of you may have heard that if there is water or sea in front of a house, this will bring good luck to the household.

How about if the house faces rows of cranes in front? Is the house fengshui still good even there is water in front?

How about chimneys in front of the house?

Our IR

Just not long ago, it was reported that our IR's opening would be delayed till next year Jan or Feb. Prior to the news annoucement, I happened to pass by IR and I took some of the photos. Did not have the chance to post them up till today.

Here are some photos to share....Take a look at those amazing work. Don't you have to agree with me, Engineers are smart people, aren't they? They could build different design tall buildings within a certain stime frame. Isn't amazing?

The slightly curved buildings are supported by strong beams during the construction phase.

Nice designs!

If given a chance to turn back the clock...

Sometimes I do wish that I could turn back the clock. If only I could, I swear that I would learn Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu earlier; learning these 2 knowledges would have saved me from going through so many unnecessary paths and obstacles.

Did you know that Bazi and Zi Wei Dou Shu can help you to "see" when an accident may occur or relationship may go through a rough path?

Therefore, is good to learn these knowledges to give yourself an advantage in controlling your destiny.

Married then divorce. Is this what you want in life?

Yesterday evening, I had dinner with my ex-boss, he was sharing with me that his only son is still not married and he was worried for him. Then he said that life is incomplete, if a person is not married. I paused for a while, I was thinking of what he just said. "Is this true?", I asked myself.

Well, think about it, getting married may not be necessary is a good thing if the married couple eventually ended up divorce. So not getting married may not be necessary a bad thing after all!

I have seen so many people that had gone through the pain of divorce. And I swear that they are still badly affected by their previous marriage, to think that it had happened quite sometime back!

So now the question is," Does one really have to get married in order to complete the whole life path?" Is life really incomplete without marriage? Or one will become wiser after marriage and divorce? Maybe you want to give a thought on it.

Friend is back from Taiwan

Still remember the Qi Men Dun Jia which I did for a friend who was in Taiwan? Read Friend in Taiwan. Well my friend A is back now. He emailed me about his trip, and with his permission, I will post some of the contents that he wrote to me.

the trip was enjoyable for the first 6 days except the last 3 days in Taipei. Although driving can be quite tedious and dangerous sometimes, we had a great time driving from Jiayi to Alisan to Sun Moon Lake to Cingjing to Taroko George to Hualien.

Unenjoyable moments
1) We cannot book the express train (2hrs) from Hualien to Taipei. So we took the slower 3.5hrs train instead.
2) It was raining at Shi Lin Market on 7th and on the way back on the 9th Day.
3) We missed Wu Fen Pu due to wrong timing there. They are not opened at 11am.
4) The whale cruise is quite bad and expensive as a lot of people got sea sick. We got slight sea sick but didnt vomitted. Luckily that we got plum in my bag. We managed to see only dophine and no whale in sight. Should go to Ocean Park and more worthy for whole day instead of just 30mins to see dophines..haha

3/9 days = 1/3 trip = unenjoyable.
6/9 days = 2/3 trip = enjoyable.

In other words, this trip is imperfect due to bad weather and poor planning/research

With Qi Men Dun Jia, you can use to predict an event outcome. Isn't cool to have Qi Men Dun Jia knowledge?

Gao Yi Ling 高伊玲 on MTV

Guess I am going to flood my blog with information on Gao Yi Ling 高伊玲. Did not know that she is so talented. Wondering was it because she was born in the month of Feb? And is on 14 Feb, Valentine's day!

Anyway, do enjoy the songs and MTV. Nice.

Palmistry

Palmistry - the art of reading your fortune from the palm lines. So far, I have yet to learn this interesting art, guess there are too many interesting subjects in Metaphysics and too many things to learn.

Guess one of these days if I can meet a great palmistry master, then I will learn this art from the great master. In the meantime, I will share my knowledges on Bazi, Fengshui and Qi Men Dun Jia with others.

In this course, you will learn how to plot bazi and identify your day master. For more detail on this course, please email me.

Space Management

Japan is one of the countries that I do not mind going back again and again. The reason is because every time I would get to see new things and learnt something new from there. I like their space management skills, they could turn a small space into a business.

While I was in Sannomiya (Kobe), I saw one of the restaurants located at the basement. Basement shops are common sightings in Japan.
