Before I started to learn fengshui and bazi, I used to hear from older folks that when a woman was pregnant, nailing, knocking or moving furnitures around the house would be prohibited. I did not understand the logic behind this? What has nailing and knocking in the house got to do with pregnancy?
When I learnt fengshui from my first master, he explained that using a woman's bazi, we could actually determine a woman conception position in the house. So in any case, when someone knock intentionally or unintentionally could accidentally "hurt" a pregnant woman womb.
Therefore, is strongly advised not to do any form of renovation or knocking in the house when someone in your house is expecting.

When are you going .....
Sometimes when I meet some of my friends or even customers, they would ask me," Francis, when are you going to become a full time Fengshui practitioner?" I would share with them, the feedback I got when I did fengshui for others.
Generally, alot of those people that do not know me, feel that I look too "young" to understand fengshui, let alone to provide fengshui service for them or others. The fact that I did not share with them was, I started to research fengshui back in year 2000. Up to this date, I have learnt from 8 great masters, the various arts of metaphysics.
Talking about "young", I can still remember that there was one occasion when I went for a house viewing for a client, the property agent was "surprised" to see me there. She even commented that I looked too young to be a master!? I had mixed feelings after hearing her comment, I felt happy because I really looked young but the cruel fact is I am not that young!
So masters who appear to be older tend to be better, that is how generally people feel when come to fengshui masters. But there is one thing that they do not realise is; how long have the masters been practising? The fact is some masters did not even start early to learn fengshui, some could have just started learning this art not long ago!
As for me, I will continue to research and learn this art (other fengshui methods) from other great masters. For the time being, I will provide my fengshui service in part time basis. To become a full time fengshui practitioner, I guess I will be ready for it when there are more people approaching for my service.

Lucky Man
I known him since 2003, he in his 50s and runs his own business in Clarke Quay. A very humble man by nature, who always shared his experiences with us. He is just like other men in his age except that he has special touch with numbers, yes 4-D numbers!
A lot of my friends have been telling me that he is good in numbers and he has striked a lot of times, he is indeed a lucky man! I wonder how did he get those numbers from? Or did he pray for those numbers? I asked myself.
Personally, I seldom place bets on 4-D but I was really curious to know how did he do it. Finally today I got the chance to talk to him. Before I could ask him how did he strike, he broke the news that just yesterday he striked 5 sets of numbers out of 23 sets of numbers, can you believe it? And that was not his first time to strike so many sets of numbers in one draw. His highest record was to strike 7 sets of numbers in one draw! Hard to believe right?
So I asked him how often would he strike 4-D out of the 52 weeks per year? His replied was at least once a month, and during good time, he could consecutive win in almost every draws. In my heart, I told myself this guy must be damned rich.
Without missing my opportunity, I asked him what was his secret formula to strike so many times? No secret formula was his reply. But he added, he did not spend any single cents on his winnings. He donated all his winnings to charity! He believes that by donating his winnings to charity has brought him the luck. He even explained that those poor people need those money much more than him. "Then why would you want to bet on 4-D?" I asked. He replied with a smile, just for the sake of charity and fun. A noble man!

The Leap Years
This morning while I was driving to work, I tuned to our local radio station. The radio deejays were debating on the topic, "What would they do if theirs birthday fall on 29 Feb."
First deejay said that it would be quite "disappointing" to celebrate birthday every 4 years, while friends could celebrate it on yearly basis.
Another deejay said that she would ask her parents to celebrate her birthday on every 28 Feb and 1 Mar when there is no 29 Feb on that year. She even explained that in such instance, she could get to celebrate 2 days of birthday then.
Actually, people who are born in 29 Feb still can celebrate birthday every year. "How to do it?", you asked. Celebrate your lunar birthday, I am sure that your lunar birthday will not be every 4 years.

Holiday
My last holiday, to Melbourne, was in 2005. Since then I did not travel to other countries other than Malaysia. Really looking forward to this trip to China, Beijing in late March. I will be there for at least 10 days, may even extend my stay in China to visit a friend in Guangzhou.
Currently, I am planning my itinerary for Beijing trip, few places that I have shortlisted to visit are; Forbidden City, Ming Tomb and Great Walls of China.
In the olden days, Emperors used to live in forbidden city. So I thought it would be interesting to find out more how Emperors live! Anyway, I was told that the buildings were built to face an auspicious direction. So hopefully I can find some clues there.
So you may wondering why would I want to visit a Tomb for a holiday trip? Well, Ming tomb, as the name has suggested, is actually a burial ground for the Ming Dynasty Emperors. The landform surrounding the tomb had great fengshui impact on their next generations. Frankly speaking, I am really keen to find out more.
As for the great walls of China, is a place that most visitors will visit in Beijing. The great walls of China has great history behind it, I believe this trip to great walls of China is definitely going to be fruitful.
Okay... when the time comes... I will post up photos here. So remember to stay tuned here.

To create more yang qi
Do you prefer to live in a bigger house? Or do you prefer to live in a smaller house? I prefer the former.
During my 2 year stay in Australia, I stayed in a double storey house, it was a semi-detached house, which I shared with two other housemates. The house consisted of a living room, dining room, kitchen and car garage on the ground floor, at the back of the house was a BBQ pit and a small garden while the upper floor consisted of 3 bedrooms.
Based on the description given, you can imagine how big the house was. Yes, it was indeed a big house. Back then, we did have not much furnitures in the house, it was rather empty, thus the house looked even bigger!
When my housemates were not in, I could feel that the house was rather quiet and empty. Any slight movement could easily generate a loud sound. And I cannot deny that at times, that could lead one's imagination to run wild.
If you are living in such a big house and the number of occupiers are not many, once in a while, you should invite some friends to go over to your place. By having house warming and occasionally party in your house, you can create more yang qi in the house. A big house has only one or two occupiers will not balance the qi in the house, therefore is strongly recommended that you should have some parties.
Thanks goodness, my housemates and I used to have a lot of pot luck sessions with our friends. I could even remember clearly the day that we had BBQ in our house, it was a memorable one.

Born in the year of Rat
Yesterday, someone asked me this question," Why people born in the year of rat are falling sick easily this year?" Is this destined? Or it just happened to be coincident?
The only thought that came into my mind was fang tai sui. It is believed that when a person fang tai sui, that year tend to be "difficult". Which means a lot of obstacles ahead, so falling sick could be one of those obstacles? Maybe someone can share with me his thoughts?
