Things that you must do in Zhou Zhuang :

1. Try the water town boat ride, cost RMB 100 per boat (Max 8 paxs per boat) for 20min. 古镇水巷游：￥100/船. (Note : Boatman can sing you songs at RMB 10 per song.)

2. Try Wan San Ti 万三蹄 - Trotter, a famous dish which Emperor liked.

3. Try Ah Po Cha - Grandmother's Tea

4. Stay one night at ancient inn - Ke Zhan 客栈

5. Sleep in ancient bed.

6. Visit Zhang Ting 张厅 and Shen Ting 沈厅

7. Visit the fish village museum.

Zhou Zhuang 周庄 (Part 1)

Zhou Zhuang 周庄 is a water town located in Suzhou province. I took a coach from Shanghai Stadium to Zhou Zhuang, the journey from Shanghai to Zhou Zhuang is approximately 2hours.

Zhou Zhuang 周庄 is an interesting place to visit. From here, you can see alot of old houses that were built in Ming and Qing Dynasties which are still well-preserved. Apart from that, I was curious to know why Zhou Zhuang 周庄 is so popular? It has attracted alot of tourists from all over the world, people in Zhou Zhuang 周庄 have made a good fortune from tourism business. So has *Shen Wan San's 沈万三 underwater tomb brought luck to this ancient town?

*Shen Wan San was a rich merchant in Zhou Zhuang.

Shanghai

As I have never been to Shanghai before, and I heard from friends that Shanghai is a great place to visit. So there I was, in Shanghai for 4 days over the last weekend.

This is my first time taking Maglev, it is something like bullet train but it can travel much faster than bullet train. It was travelling at 300km/hr when I travelled from Pudong Airport to Longyang station and the whole journey took me 8min! It was super fast! But the fastest speed which it could go up to was 431km/hr and that was when I was took Maglev back to airport from Longyang station and it took me just mere 7min to reach Pudong Airport.

For your information, a normal car journey from Pudong airport to Longyang station will take about an hour or so, and this depend on the traffic condition.

Tip : If you want to try Maglev, ticket costs 50RMB per trip (approximately S$10.46) but if you can produce your airticket stub, there will be a 20% discount. A return ticket will cost 100RMB before discount. (Note : Return ticket must be used within 7 days)

Famous road, Nanjing Dong Lu. This stretch of road is a shopping mall, you can walk from one end to the other end with ease. Or you can shop till you drop, too many things to buy for shoppers.

Well known Shanghai No. 1 Department Store with a long history behind it. So it is because of their good fengshui location that made the business grow?
