How Qi Men Dun Jia can save your day.

Have you ever had such an experience of doing something and regretted later? I bet the feeling must be damn lousy right? So have you thought of how to get over it or better still how to prevent such lousy experience from occurring?

Well, Qi Men Du Jia (QMDJ) can provide you an extra opinion on things you do. For example, you are making a decision whether you should proceed to purchase a 3 day package holiday tour or not. By looking at QMDJ chart, if there is no major taboo from the chart, you can continue with your plan. However if the chart shows sign of taboo, is better not to take any risk of having holiday. Thus, this will save your day.

Our Merlion

Of late, there have been some comments on our Merlion's head, which was striked by lightning on last sat late afternoon.

In Asiaone website, http://www.asiaone.com/Travel/News/Story/A1Story20090304-126212.html , it was reported that Geomancers and masters were asked to comment on this issue. From the poll result, it seemed like masters were divided, some masters based on their fengshui experience viewed that was a good sign. While the other half viewed it as bad omen.

And in last Sunday Lianhe Wanbao, there was also an article on masters' view on the Merlion's head. One master even commented that from Qi Men Dun Jia point of view, it was a good sign.

So which is which? A good sign or a bad omen? If you were to ask me what was my view on this, I would have simply put fengshui and Qi Men Dun Jia aside. Myself is an Electrical trained Engineer, I would view the damage on the Merlion's head was due to lack of proper lightning protection rather than a message from elsewhere!

Assuming that there was indeed a message from elsewhere, then I would say no matter what happens. We would still end up having both, the good sign and bad omen. Why? You ask. Well, we are already in the state of recession, isn't this consider bad? And economy is unlikely to improve overnight, and most likely in the next couple of months, more bad news would surface.

Therefore I would say that the damage was an indeed a bad omen. Having say that, we should not forget the law of physics, it stated that what goes up will still come down. Likewise, our economy will not be always in recession, it will recover. Is just like at the end of the tunnel you will get to see the ray of light. So no matter what, the damage on the Merlion's head is still a good sign after all, our economy will recover in the near term. If you were to look at this issue positively, the damage on the Merlion's head has indirected created some job opportunity for contractors! In addition, it had attracted more people to go there to see the damaged Merlion's head, it had brought business on the surrounding shops and restaurants.

If the Merlion's head had the lightning protection installed in the first place, I guess there would not be so much talks on whether the lighting strike was a good sign or bad omen. Nevertheless, we should not let this matter bother us, we should move forward from here.

Jurong Hill

The last time I visited this place was many years back, I remember I was there with a friend. My friend had never been there, so I thought it would be a nice place to enjoy some night view up on the hill.

I was right, the night view was spectacular. The thousands of lamposts down there reminded me of my stay in Australia. When I was in Australia, my classmates and I used to go up to Mt Cootha , the most unforgetable moment was during winter time. The temperature was freezing cold but we were up there eating ice-cream, sounds crazy isn't it? But trust me, the feeling of eating ice cream during winter is very different!

Anyway, back to Jurong Hill. After so many years, decided to visit this place again. To see how it is like during day time. Below are some of the photos which I took.

View from the lookout point.

The building basement is a restaurant.

You can go to the top of the building to have a better view.

Engineers are amazing

Do you watch the Dream-catcher serial, which is currently aired on every Mondays to Fridays during prime-time slot? If you have not, let me briefly narrate the serial. The story is all about 8* Engineers who work in various trades such like aircraft repair, wafer-fab and manufacturing, the challenges that Engineers face everyday.

One of the Engineers in that serial even invented a portable kidney dialysis. For that invention, that Engineer won himself a medical related award. With such a storyline, the serial hope that it will inspire more people to come forward to join such industrials.

Having say that, have they missed out another breed of Engineers whose contributions are of significance? Engineers from construction industry! Engineers such as Civil Engineer, Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, their commitment to design and build safe and wonderful design buildings. Without them, we would not be able to live in a comfortable environment. Therefore, we should not forget to give credits to them too!

*I derived the number of 8 Engineers based on faces that I see almost everyday in the serial, there could be more than 8.

Drove past our IR, which are still in the midst of building.

Have you ever wondered, how did Engineers think of such wonderful building designs and having them built without any difficulty?

When I saw how these buildings were built, I really have to salute to those Engineers. Without their contributions, I guess we would not never be able to stay or live in such wonderful design buildings!
