This morning while I was driving to work, I tuned to our local radio station. The radio deejays were debating on the topic, "What would they do if theirs birthday fall on 29 Feb."
First deejay said that it would be quite "disappointing" to celebrate birthday every 4 years, while friends could celebrate it on yearly basis.
Another deejay said that she would ask her parents to celebrate her birthday on every 28 Feb and 1 Mar when there is no 29 Feb on that year. She even explained that in such instance, she could get to celebrate 2 days of birthday then.
Actually, people who are born in 29 Feb still can celebrate birthday every year. "How to do it?", you asked. Celebrate your lunar birthday, I am sure that your lunar birthday will not be every 4 years.

Holiday
My last holiday, to Melbourne, was in 2005. Since then I did not travel to other countries other than Malaysia. Really looking forward to this trip to China, Beijing in late March. I will be there for at least 10 days, may even extend my stay in China to visit a friend in Guangzhou.
Currently, I am planning my itinerary for Beijing trip, few places that I have shortlisted to visit are; Forbidden City, Ming Tomb and Great Walls of China.
In the olden days, Emperors used to live in forbidden city. So I thought it would be interesting to find out more how Emperors live! Anyway, I was told that the buildings were built to face an auspicious direction. So hopefully I can find some clues there.
So you may wondering why would I want to visit a Tomb for a holiday trip? Well, Ming tomb, as the name has suggested, is actually a burial ground for the Ming Dynasty Emperors. The landform surrounding the tomb had great fengshui impact on their next generations. Frankly speaking, I am really keen to find out more.
As for the great walls of China, is a place that most visitors will visit in Beijing. The great walls of China has great history behind it, I believe this trip to great walls of China is definitely going to be fruitful.
Okay... when the time comes... I will post up photos here. So remember to stay tuned here.

To create more yang qi
Do you prefer to live in a bigger house? Or do you prefer to live in a smaller house? I prefer the former.
During my 2 year stay in Australia, I stayed in a double storey house, it was a semi-detached house, which I shared with two other housemates. The house consisted of a living room, dining room, kitchen and car garage on the ground floor, at the back of the house was a BBQ pit and a small garden while the upper floor consisted of 3 bedrooms.
Based on the description given, you can imagine how big the house was. Yes, it was indeed a big house. Back then, we did have not much furnitures in the house, it was rather empty, thus the house looked even bigger!
When my housemates were not in, I could feel that the house was rather quiet and empty. Any slight movement could easily generate a loud sound. And I cannot deny that at times, that could lead one's imagination to run wild.
If you are living in such a big house and the number of occupiers are not many, once in a while, you should invite some friends to go over to your place. By having house warming and occasionally party in your house, you can create more yang qi in the house. A big house has only one or two occupiers will not balance the qi in the house, therefore is strongly recommended that you should have some parties.
Thanks goodness, my housemates and I used to have a lot of pot luck sessions with our friends. I could even remember clearly the day that we had BBQ in our house, it was a memorable one.

Born in the year of Rat
Yesterday, someone asked me this question," Why people born in the year of rat are falling sick easily this year?" Is this destined? Or it just happened to be coincident?
The only thought that came into my mind was fang tai sui. It is believed that when a person fang tai sui, that year tend to be "difficult". Which means a lot of obstacles ahead, so falling sick could be one of those obstacles? Maybe someone can share with me his thoughts?

Waterfront house
Have you ever dreamt of living in a house which has a beautiful lake or a river in front? Recently, there was a newly launch housing project, which would be built and face a reservoir. Owning one such house has been my dream ever since I lived in Australia, so I did not miss the chance to pay showflat a visit.
Few blocks of the new project would have North facing orientation as according to the printed compass arrow in the brochure, such facing is usually good* (*Without considering other fengshui factors such as blind spot reading and etc). Having a water reservoir right in front of block, I give my thumb up! Is going to be beautiful!
On top of that, I must praise that the layout of the units are much better than those other houses that I viewed recently. The interior design was impressive too!

Watching sunset with your loved one, sounds sweet isn't it?
Research
First, I would like to apologise to all my readers for not updating my blogs regularly. Lately, I have been busy doing alot of bazi research. Of late, there were some interesting cases that have been reporting almost like every other day in our local paper. Being curious to know why people would get themselves in unnecessary media attention or troubles, I decided to research on those involved persons. With their birth date to analyse, I was hoping to find out some answers.
Apparently those bazi data which I researched on, did show some form of "trouble" indications. And one of the most obvious tell-tale sign is when a person's bazi have the same heavenly stem and earthly branch (天干和地支) with liu nian (流年 Yearly heavenly stem and earthly branch) or da yun (大运 Luck Cycle). Apart from that, there was one bazi showed a lot of clashes during this period.
Having said that, I have to highlight that not all bazi when encounter repetition and clashes will be always bad. There were some bazi when encountered repetition and clashes, instead of having lousy luck, those people became very rich! Why? Well... in a simple layman term, those repetition and clashes become favourable to that person, that's why he became rich.

Bukit Timah Hill
This morning, I decided to climb Bukit Timah Hill to breath in some fresh air there. It was a tough "climb", took me about 30mins to secure the summit. The initial part of the "climb" was the toughest, because there was a stretch of steep slope which required me to put me alot of "effort" to "climb".
This place will be great to stay, get to breath fresh air everyday. Good Qi, isn't it?
Finally, reached the summit. A sense of "achievement"? Is 163.63 m above sea level! High lor?! Steep slope, do not run. That was the toughest part of the whole journey. Was it because that my age catching up? Or I was getting too weak?
An old signal tower.
Three tall signal towers. This photo was took in another part of Bukit Timah Hill. It was a short walk from the foot of hill.
A used Quarry.
Nice view, isn't it?An old signal tower.

Condo in a midst of the forest.
If the condo sits on a right position with the quarry as a support, the fengshui will be good.

Year of Rat starts today!
Yes, today 4 Feb 2008 marks the first day of Rat year, is also known as Lichun 立春 (Spring). The exact time based on Tong Sheng shows that Year of Rat takes over at 1900hrs (Wu Shi ). I counter check using Wan Nian Li (万年历), it also shows that 1903hrs is the changing of season.
So in case if your friend still think year of Rat starts on 7 Feb 2008, you can share with them year of Rat is actually starts today.
Here I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone A Happy RAT Year.
祝大家,万事如意,新年发大财!发啊!

Nowadays more younger people believe in fengshui
This morning, I got a copy of Business Times, it was reported that nowadays more younger people believe in fengshui as compared to the past. The reporter interviewed some of those young people who consulted fengshui masters, the interviewees feedback that they could see signs of improvement in their business and personal life after the consultation.
Fengshui is getting popular, one of the contributing factors could be people are well-educated about it. - BT
Apart from younger people who consulted fengshui masters, Business Times also reported corporate sector also engaged fengshui masters to advise them.
Fengshui consultation fee can be range from $88 to $1,888 or even more as reported in the paper.

The paper also reported one interesting case that bedrooms of a husband and his wife has to be in different part of the house. Which resulted two bedrooms were created for the couple. No reason was given, why that couple had to sleep in different part of the hse.
In my own opinion, that master that requested 2 bedrooms to create for that couple, the master could have use the couples' bazi to determine whether they belong to East or West group.
