Last friday, I mentioned that some websites stated that Friday the 13th was considered as an unlucky day for stocks but based on Heavenly Stem and Earthly branches on that day, which was a Fire element day. Fire element would favour stocks. A check on last friday Straits Times Index (STI), it shows that STI registered the biggest jump for that day, it closed 5.6% higher or 83.99points. The indices across the Asia pacific region also fared pretty well, most of the indices closed on average of 3% higher. However, there were 3 indices in negative territory.
So it seems like Fire element day really favour our stocks? Or was it just a pure coincidence? Only time will tell.
