Next year 2009 is Year of Ox, but this Ox will arrive slightly later. To be exact, Year of Ox will commence on the tenth day of Lunar New Year. The first day of Lunar New Year is 26 Jan 2009. And Year of Ox will start only on 4 Feb 2009 at 0052hrs.
So do not be mistaken that babies born within the period of 26 Jan 2009 to 03 Feb 2009 are babies ox, they are in fact still babies rat! Only babies that are born on 4 Feb 2009 after 0052hrs are considered as babies ox.
Next year, is Ji Chou Nian 己丑年, which means that is an Earth Ox. It will be both earth on the Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch, the earth chou 丑 underneath earth Ji 己 is soggy earth, just like after a heavy downpour, earth chou is wet and soft. This soggy earth contains too much water therefore it cannot hold anything heavy, by putting anything heavy on top it, it will sink.
With such illustration, you can imagine what is going to be in store next year! However, Earth Chou welcomes summer, only with hot sun shining on it, it will not be wet and soft. So metal industry and property industry will reach its peak during this period.
For health matter, do pay special attention to the following illness: mouth, lung, reproductive organs, bladder, kidney and ears. Terminated illness will rise.
Additional information for those who are born in year of Ox, Dragon, Goat and Dog, it is believed that those who are born in the above-mentioned year, they Fang, Chong and Xing Tai Sui (犯,冲,刑太岁).
Note : Above article is written based on yearly heavenly stem and earthly branch. A person's luck still depend very much on each own individual's bazi. If you want to know your future well-being, please consult a professional Ming Li Shi, master for advise.

Tying the knots
Did you know that it is important to pick an auspicious date to tie the knot (to get married)? One common question which people like to ask is," The auspicious date should goes to ROM (Register of Marriage) or Customary?" In my opinion, which ever comes first. For instance, if you are planning to get registered this year and hold your customary wedding next year. Then in this instance, you should choose an auspicious date for your ROM. However, if you can get another auspicious date for customary date, then that will be a bonus!
I know there are couples that did not pay special attention when come to their ROM date. Some couples would simply pick a date just to mark a certain occasion of their relationship such as their first day of relationship, first time they met or even birthday! Others would choose a date that is easy to remember, like for example 20 Aug 2008, which can be read as 20/08/2008 :- 20082008.
Getting a date without considering the fact whether is auspicious for both married parties could spell disaster in the later of their relationship! Especially in the case when both parties' bazi show signs of clash in their house of spouse. In additional to that, if the chosen date also collided with their bazi (house of spouse). Chances of having a blissful marriage will become slimmer.
So if you are planning to tie the knot soon, my advise is, consult a reputed fengshui master that would advise an auspicious date only after he had look through your bazi and your spouse-to-be bazi.
With that note, I would like to wish those getting married couples, A Happy Marriage! And I would like to take this opportunity to wish my following friends:
1. Chor Lee
2. Hui Ying
3. Jeffery
4. Kalai
5. Paul
Wish you a blissful marriage. Congratulations! Cheers!

Toilet located in the centre
When I just started my fengshui research, there were records stated that toilet should be ideally located outside of the house. In fact, back in the olden days, toilets were never located inside any dwellings. Let alone, having a toilet next to a bedroom.
It is believed that toilet contains the most negative energy in any part of dwelling. Therefore, having a toilet close to you will bring problems. But in our modern living, having a toilet nearer to us can bring us alot of convenience! Especially for places that experience 4 seasons, for example; winter time, toilet located in the centre of the house is really a must! Which I did not realise this when I was in Brisbane and that was in year 2000.
Now, having through another winter season. I realise the importance of having a toilet located right inside the house.

Stove Part 2
Did you know that the position of Stove control knob is another important factor to consider in fengshui aspect? Usually when you visit a stove showroom, the position of the control knobs are located in the front or in the right side of the stove. So most of the time, you do not have much choice to choose from.
But getting a stove that has a wrong knob position is not a good thing too. Therefore it is important to note that these control knob should be in correct position which is compatible to breadwinner's bazi.

Stove Part 1
Did you know that in fengshui, placement of stove is very important? If stove is placed in the correct position, it will bring prosperity and harmony to family. On the other hand, when a stove position is placed in unfavourable position, it will bring adverse effect.
Just to share a little bit on the past, in the olden days, stove was never located in the house West sector or facing west. The reason? Sunset is in the west, with such a strong sun glare in the evening, would the person cooking in the west sector feel comfortable? However, with our modern living, even having a stove in the west or facing west is no longer a problem. This glaring problem can be solve with a window blind.
A general rule of thumb for placement of stove is, one should avoid placing stove in the North-west sector. As North-west is representing father or heaven in Gua ( 8 Trigram), therefore having a stove in North-west is as good as burning father or heaven, which is deemed to be inauspicious. If stove is located in North-west sector, it should be quickly solved using fengshui cure or stove should be relocated to a favourable location based on the breadwinner's bazi.
If you are uncertain on your house stove position, you should consult a master for advise.

Fengshui Tree?
My friend told me that there was a fengshui tree in Sydney Chinatown. Since Fengshui has been my interest, I definitely would not miss out such an opportunity to find out this fengshui tree.
The tree was not difficult to find, it was standing right in front of a bank, just across the road is the famous Paddy Market.
The famous Paddy Market, which is open on Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun only. Closed on Monday till Wednesday.
Standing right at the bottom of the tree, I observed the tree, trying to figure out what made my friend said that was a fengshui tree. There was no leaves in the tree, it was a bare tree trunk except certain portions were coated with golden substance, which I could not figure what they were.
And if you have noticed closely on the above photo, you could actually see little water droplets dripping from one of the tree branches. It was something unique and I was trying to figure how did the water get up to the top and start dripping? I wonder whether there was a water pump that pushed the water to the top?
At the bottom of the tree, there was a signboard that explain what is this tree about.
A closer look on those explaination notes. So is this a fengshui tree?

River
My friend asked me,"Did you notice in Australia, there will be river in every state?"
I paused for a while. Then I replied," Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth have river, but I cannot recall whether Adelaide has one or not?"
My friend answered me," Yes there is one in Adelaide." It was a shame that I could not remember Adelaide river even though I have been to Adelaide twice! The only 2 state that I could not answer were Tasmania and Canberra as I have not been to those places yet. But I was quite sure there wasn't any river in Northern Territory.
Anyway, the reason why rivers can be found in those places is because river was a form of transportation in the olden days. As for now, these rivers are still use for transportation. There are boats that are used to ferry people. In Brisbane, there have Citycat and I just found out that Sydney have rivercat! See photo.

Apartment in Wollongong
I heard the weather forecast for Wollongong would be much colder than Sydney City, at least by 5 Deg C difference before I came here. I was mentally prepared for the cold temperature but when I entered this apartment in Wollongong, I felt so warm. The interior of the apartment is nicely decorated, I simply love this apartment. Is so beautiful!
There are 2 rooms in this apartment, I slept in one of the rooms, without turning on the heater, and I did not feel cold at all! This apartment is really cozy!

Simple kitchen. Just nice for single.
Look at the balcony, is so big! The area is almost as big as the interior area! Look like can do BBQ during summer time. Cool. Looking forward.

Wollongong
The journey from Sydney to Wollongong is approximately 1hr 15min by car. Driving to Wollongong was not difficult. Along the way, there was one long stretch of Suburb area to clear first before hitting the highway. Once in the highway, the journey to Wollongong was much faster.
I even visited the temple in Wollongong, my friend told me that temple was one of the biggest in Sydney.
Spoke to the nun in the temple, she asked me which country did I come from. I replied her that I was from Singapore. Then she shared with me that Singaporean celebrate Hungry Ghost festival during Lunar Seventh Month. To them, lunar seventh month is an auspicious month to "recruit" nuns.
